Thrift Shop

How it is operated

Disability Works
Our Thrift Shop is run by Disability Works, a program funded by the Trillium Foundation which provides free work clothing to persons with disabilities. Disability Works is a part time business operated by and for persons with disabilities. We provide not only free work clothing but also employmnt referrals and IT support.

Work Clothing Vouchers
Our Thrift Shop is open to the general public, however, clothing is free of charge to persons with disabilities who are enrolled in a supportive employment program. Programs that qualify are ODSP Employment Supports, The Ontario March of Dimes, The United Way of Ottawa Carleton, Causeway Work Centre Inc and Independent employment support contractors working with the disabled.
Disabled persons who are seeking employment and have enrolled in a supportive employment program can receive a free work clothing voucher from their employment case manager. This voucher entitles them to receive free work related clothing. All the client has to do is to bring the clothing voucher to our store and we will do our best to provide the necessary clothing that the client will need for their employment or job interview.
