APPLE strives to enhance the quality of life of our members by offering mutual support at our drop-ins, and affordable recreational and cultural activities both at APPLE and in the community. We strive to offer a warm and safe atmosphere for our members, all of whom have emotional or psychiatric challenges. APPLE tries to prevent hospitalization through encouraging membership participation, including volunteer work and employment, in the operations of our organization..

A.P.P.L.E. strives to enhance the quality of life of our members by offering peer support, employment, low cost recreational programs, referral information, mental health education, volunteer opportunities, computer training, and a meal program to all of our members. We try to help our members from being re-hospitalized by helping them reintegrate back into our community. The main focus of our program is to provide a low cost quality recreation program for persons with mental health issues.

A.P.P.L.E. also participates in recreational activities with Causeway Clubhouse. Members who are interested in employment are referred to ODSP Employment Supports or Job quest; both are located above the Causeway Clubhouse. Because we receive practically no financial support from the Ministry of Health, we rely heavily on volunteers who without their support we would not exist. We are a member of Volunteer Ottawa and receive volunteer support with student placements from our local colleges and universities. Our organizational abilities are stretched to the limit so please be patient when trying to contact us.
